 History
A prophetic friend coined a phrase "Butterfly Kisses" to describe the little sweet nothings the Lord whispers to those that love Him. For example, if you love rainbows and you're having a particularly tough moment and suddenly there is a rainbow! It's those little things that could seem coincidental but over time add up to a point where you realize it can't simply be a coincidence.
Meaning
The Lord loves us deeply and it's not a far off viewing you from a distance kind of love, He desires a hands-on and deeply personal relationship.
As with any good relationship, it's the intimate "knowing" of each other and remembering to do what the other loves. God knows our hearts and loves to love on us in ways that are meaningful to us. He is the Lover of our souls. We need to wait in expectation of those intimate touches and recognize them when they occur.
We also need to have a desire to reciprocate by doing that which is pleasing unto Him. That is the nature of a beautiful relationship.
